Writing Task 1 Map

저도 시험 치러 가서 지도를 만난다면 정말 뭥미 이럴거 같아요. 많은 유형들 중에서 하필이면 지도를 만나면 정말 좌절하고 싶을 거에요

ㅠㅜ

저는 diagram이나 지도를 만나지 않게 해달라고 빌고 있습니다 어헛헛.

그래도 만에 하나 나온다면 아무것도 못 쓰고 나오는 것 보단 철저히 준비해서 보란 듯이 잘쓰고 나오면 참 좋겠죠? 그래서 준비했습니다!

Writing Task 1의 유형중 하나인~ MAP!

만약 시험에 지도 유형의 문제가 나온다면 지도 유형 중에서도 세가지 중 하나일 겁니다.

1. Describe one map in the present day. 

2. Describe two maps- one in the present and one in the future.

3. Describe two maps- one in the past and one in the present.

이렇게 세가지 중 하나요. 저는 이 세가지 중에 3번째인 하나는 과거, 다른 하나는 현재인 두개의 지도를 골랐습니다. 

제가 준비한 지도는 두개가 아니라 세개이고, 2개의 지도는 과거, 다른 하나는 현재인 걸로요.

The map below show the changes that have taken place 

in Meadowside village and Fonton, a neighbouring town, since 1962.

The maps illustrate how Meadowside village and Fonton, which is a neighbouring town, have developed over three different time periods (1962, 1985 and the present).

Overall, Meadowside village increased in size and has become Meadowside Suburb as it merged together with Fonton. Furthermore, there have been significant changes in infrastructure, housing and facilities over the period given.

In 1962, both Meadowside and Fonton were a completely separate with no roads or rail connecting them. While Fonton had a railway line running through it to the north, Meadowside, located to the west of Fonton, only had a small road form the west.

By 1985, there was a considerable growth in the size of Meadowside village and Fonton. The small road in Meadowside village had been converted into a main road and was also extended to the east to connect with Fonton. Meadowside, moreover, had also developed a housing estate in the west, a leisure and a supermarket in the south.

Currently, both Meadowside, which is now a suburb, and Fonton are joined. The railway line, which runs through Fonton, has been extended to the west where a train station has been built. To the north of the station, a hotel has been constructed and opposite the station, to the south, there is a now a business park. 

지도를 보면 과거의 모습과 현재의 모습이 있습니다. 그러니 당연하게 쓸때에 present tense와 past tense를 사용하셔야 겠죠? 

세개의 지도를 비교하며 어떠한 변화가 있었는지 차례대로 설명하시면 됩니다. 

자, 아래의 리스트를 보시고 위 지도에서 무엇들이 바뀌었는지 골라보세요.

위의 리스트를 살펴보면 무엇이 바뀌었는지 알 수 있습니다. 그리고 자신이 생각한 그 변화들을 적기만 하면 됩니다.

언제나 그랬듯이 항상 첫 문단은 여러분이 지금 어떠한 리포트를 쓰는지에 대해 설명하셔야 합니다.  

Paragraph 1- Paraphrase Sentence

The maps illustrate how Meadowside village and Fonton, which is a neighbouring town, have developed over three different time periods (1962, 1985 and the present).

문제를 줄 때에 준 설명을 그대로 베껴쓰면 안된다는 것은 다 아실테니 paraphrasing만 해주시면 됩니다. 그리고 여러분이 리포트에서 뭐에 관해 쓸지에 대해 언급 해주시면 되죠.

Paragraph 2- Overview

Overall, Meadowside village increased in size and has become Meadowside Suburb as it merged together with Fonton. Furthermore, there have been significant changes in infrastructure, housing and facilities over the period given.

두번째 문단에서는 전반적인 상황을 정리해서 설명합니다. Meadowside는 보면 1962년, 1985년과 현재를 보면 많은 것이 바뀌었습니다. 무엇 무엇이 전반적으로 어떻게 바뀌었는지에 간단히 설명하고 다음 단락에서 자세히 설명하시면 됩니다.

Paragraph 3- Main Body 1

In 1962, both Meadowside and Fonton were a completely separate with no roads or rail connecting them. While Fonton had a railway line running through it to the north, Meadowside, located to the west of Fonton, only had a small road form the west.

첫번째 년도에서는 별로 많이 설명할게 없어서 꽤 짧습니다. 아직 변화가 있지 않았으니 그저 Meadowside와 Fonton에 뭐가 있는지 설명했습니다. 

Paragraph 4- Main Body 2

By 1985, there was a considerable growth in the size of Meadowside village and Fonton. The small road in Meadowside village had been converted into a main road and was also extended to the east to connect with Fonton. Meadowside, moreover, had also developed a housing estate in the west, a leisure and a supermarket in the south.

1985년도에는 꽤 변화가 있었습니다. 일단 두개의 마을이 커졌고 두 마을을 연결해주는 길이 생겼습니다. 또한 Meadowside 마을은 여러 건물을 지었네요. 

Paragraph 5- Main Body 3

Currently, both Meadowside, which is now a suburb, and Fonton are joined. The railway line, which runs through Fonton, has been extended to the west where a train station has been built. To the north of the station, a hotel has been constructed and opposite the station, to the south, there is a now a business park.

마지막 현재의 마을을 보면 Meadowside와 Fonton의 땅이 이어졌습니다. 또한 철도가 마을의 가운데에 있는 station과 이어져 있는 것이 보입니다. 호텔도 생겼고 비즈니스 공원도 생겼네요. 

이렇게 여러가지 보이는 사항들을 장소를 더해서 설명해 주시면 됩니다. 어디어디에 뭐가 생겼으며, 사방위 어디에 위치했는지 말입니다. 한 단락에 모든 정보를 넣으려고 하시면 헷갈리고 두서 없어지기 마련입니다. 그러니 차근차근 한 단락으로 나눠서 한 년도가 어떻게 되어 있고 변했는지 적으시면 되겠습니다^^

제가 지도를 어려워 하는 이유는 제가 방향에 대해 좀 그러해서 그렇지만 만약 필요한 어휘와 상용어구를 아신다면 별로 어려운 것도 아닙니다. 그러니 역시 어휘나 상영어구가 부족하신 분들은 외워두시는게 좋겠지요?? 제가 지도에 필요한 어휘나 상용어구를 Vocabulary 카테고리에 포스팅 해 놓을테니 오셔서 체크해 보세용~
